Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam → Mikumi (Afternoon Game Drive)
  • Early pick-up in Dar; drive via Morogoro to Mikumi.

  • Arrive for lunch; check in to your lodge/camp.

  • Afternoon game drive on the Mkata Floodplain—look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and lions.

  • Dinner and overnight.

  • Sunrise game drive for peak activity and photography.

  • Midday rest at the lodge or picnic lunch in a designated area.

  • Afternoon game drive focusing on open plains and lion territories; optional stop at hippo pools (time/season permitting).

  • Dinner and overnight.

  • Short transfer to Udzungwa Mountains National Park.

  • Guided hike to Sanje Waterfall with natural pools; watch for Udzungwa red colobus and Sanje mangabey.

  • Return to Mikumi area (or stay near Udzungwa—your choice). Dinner and overnight.

  • Leisurely breakfast; optional short walk/birding around the lodge.

  • Drive back to Dar es Salaam; drop-off at hotel/airport in the late afternoon/evening.
